TIS raise over £15k for The British Heart Foundation. - TIS

TIS have raised over £15k for The British Heart Foundation.

A recent contract saw TIS conduct one of its biggest charitable activities yet!

Part of the job required us to remove all televisions from a client’s premises, and dispose of them in an appropriate manner.

Realising there was still value and life to the televisions, TIS proposed to donate them to The British Heart Foundation for sale through their retail outlets.

Our engineers re-boxed the TVs to be collected by the BHF before they were distributed to various stores across the UK.

As a result, TIS has raised a whopping £15,520 for BHF, which will help fund vital research.

The British Heart Foundation work to free the world from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. The charity raises money to research cures and treatments for heart disease, strokes, vascular dementia and diabetes, relying on donations in order to conduct its work.

Andrew Reilly, TIS Designer comments “As part of the tender process, we came up with the pragmatic solution that involved re-purposing equipment deemed to be end of life. BHF immediately saw the value in our proposal and the benefits that could be achieved.

I am incredibly proud of the end result, raising such a phenomenal amount for such a worthy cause.”

Earlier in the month, TIS announced its charity partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust, after losing a member of the team to cancer.

On Saturday 7thSeptember, 12 members of the TIS team will be tackling a ten-mile course at the North West Classic Tough Mudder Challenge. Battling 25 obstacles, and a whole lotta’ mud, to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, in memory of our dear friend.

We’d be so grateful for your support and donations, helping us to raise as much awareness and cash as possible.

As little as £25 can provide a teenager fighting cancer with the support of a specialist nurse.
