People Advisor - Ref: V325
We are looking for an experienced and proactive People Advisor to join our dedicated People Team, providing essential support across the TIS Group. As part of a collaborative team of four, you’ll play a key role in strengthening resilience within the People function and ensuring a consistent, high-quality HR service.
Working closely with the Culture and Compliance teams, you’ll manage key activities across the employee lifecycle - including onboarding, contractor vetting, occupational health, and employee relations. This is a varied generalist role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing people support with process excellence and compliance.
Success in this role means seamless onboarding experiences for employees and contractors, Managers feeling supported, confident, and well-advised in people matters and employee relations issues are managed fairly, consistently, and efficiently.
You'll ensure occupational health and wellbeing initiatives are proactive and impactful and the People, Culture, and Compliance teams work in harmony to deliver an exceptional employee experience.
The role involves:
- Support the TIS Group with all aspects of HR operations, providing timely advice and support to employees and Line Managers
- Manage occupational health referrals and liaise with providers to ensure proactive employee wellbeing support
- Manage contractor onboarding and vetting, ensuring full compliance with BAFE, BS7858, and Golden Thread requirements
- Prepare accurate offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documentation, and manage new starter setup on the HR system
- Coordinate inductions, ensuring a positive and consistent experience for new employees
- Prepare and issue documentation for employee contractual changes and maintain accurate records in line with GDPR
- Provide practical HR guidance to Line Managers, supporting effective and fair decision-making
- Assist with employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and performance issues
- Support investigations and formal meetings, including notetaking and case documentation
- Promote mental health awareness and provide wellbeing guidance to Line Managers and employees
- Maintain HR systems and personnel files, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
- Process leavers and manage archiving in accordance with GDPR and company policy
- Travel to other TIS Group offices to provide HR support and maintain consistent practices across the Group, flexibility required
Key experience / Qualifications:
- CIPD Level 3 qualified (minimum) with at least 3 years’ generalist HR experience; working towards Level 5 desirable
- Proven experience providing practical advice on HR policies, employee relations, and onboarding
- Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience coordinating onboarding and compliance checks for employees or contractors
- Strong administrative, organisational, and data management skills
- Mental Health First Aider qualification (or willingness to train)
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and HRIS platforms
- Full UK Driving Licence required

We will offer the following package:
- Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm.
- Salary: £30,000 - £33,000
