TIS has achieved NSI Gold approval and BAFE SP207 registration for the ‘Design, Installation, Commissioning, and Maintenance of Evacuation Alert Systems’.
This certification places TIS among an elite group of companies nationwide and one of only four in the East Midlands to hold this accreditation. It reinforces our commitment to delivering the highest standards in fire safety solutions, helping to safeguard high-rise residential buildings and protect those at risk.

What are evacuation alert systems, and why are they important?
Evacuation Alert Systems are a vital life safety measure, designed to assist Fire & Rescue Services in prioritising and managing the safe evacuation of high-rise residential buildings. In the event of an emergency, they enable targeted alerts to be issued to specific floors or areas, helping to ensure that those most at risk can be evacuated efficiently and safely.
These systems do not replace fire detection and alarm systems but instead provide an extra layer of protection – ensuring that when evacuation is necessary, it is well-coordinated and effectively communicated.
Meeting evolving fire safety regulations
Fire safety legislation has evolved in recent years, with Approved Document B of the Building Regulations being updated in 2022 to mandate the installation of evacuation alert systems in all new high-rise residential buildings over 18 metres in height. Additionally, existing buildings of this height undergoing significant refurbishments must also comply with this requirement.
With our BAFE SP207 accreditation, TIS is now formally recognised as a competent provider of these critical systems, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and regulatory expectations.
The significance of BAFE SP207 certification
The BAFE SP207 scheme sets the benchmark for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of evacuation alert systems. By achieving this certification, TIS demonstrates:
- Technical competence – Our expertise ensures that every system we install is fit for purpose and meets the highest industry standards.
- Professionalism and quality assurance – As an NSI Gold-accredited company, we operate within a rigorously managed ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Third-party validation – Each system we install comes with an NSI/BAFE ‘Certificate of Compliance’, offering peace of mind to building owners, enforcing authorities, and insurers that their system is correctly installed, fully functional, and properly maintained.
A commitment to building safety
Achieving BAFE SP207 registration is a testament to our ongoing dedication to fire safety, compliance, and technical excellence. By working with TIS, customers can be confident that they are receiving a fully accredited and industry-leading fire safety solution that meets the demands of modern regulations and enhances safety for residents in high-rise buildings.
